Surya’s iconography is often depicted riding a chariot harnessed by horses.
According to Rig Veda 1.50. 8, Surya, the Hindu Sun god travels in a chariot driven by seven horses. The seven horses symbolize seven kinds of forces, seven stages of thinking seven levels of consciusness , the seven colours of visible light, and seven days in a week.
Importance of Idol Worshipping
Idols are not the idle fancies of sculptors but shining channels through which the heart of the devotee is attracted to and flows towards God. Though the image is worshipped.
